Donald Sterling Issued a Lifetime Ban and $2.5M Fine

As a result of those leaked recordings of Donald Sterling basically saying blacks are lesser people, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has given Sterling a lifetime ban and a $2.5 million fine.

In a press conference Tuesday morning, Silver said, “I am banning Mr. Sterling for life from any association with the Clippers organization or the NBA.” In addition, Silver said he was going to urge NBA owners and the board of governors to force Sterling to sell the team.

Most thought Sterling was only going to get a suspension and fine but turns out this is “the most severe sanctions the league has ever levied against an owner.”

Let this be a lesson to other team owners out there. Don’t let your 20-something side-piece secretly record you talking about how you don’t want her being seen with black people. It won’t end well.
