The question on everyone’s mind is, “Why did Solange Knowles go apeshit on Jay Z in an elevator?” NYDN might have the answer. A source explains it’s because he wanted to bounce to Rihanna’s party alone.
It all started when two of her friends who weren’t dressed up for the Met Ball showed up at The Standard. They wanted to get in to the after-party and kept name dropping Jay Z even though they were guests of Solange. Management went to Beyonce’s bodyguard and told them, “there’s a problem.”
Jay Z got irritated and told Solange, “don’t use my name.” That’s when Solange got the sads and wanted to leave. As they were heading out, Jay Z said he would be going to Rihanna’s after-party and told his people he “didn’t need extra security” because Beyonce wasn’t going.
A drunk and pissy Solange didn’t like that saying, “Why can’t you go home?” She then said to Beyonce, “Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?”
Jay Z shot back, “You’re one to talk.”
That’s when Solange lost it and started trying to punch and kick Jay Z. Jay ended up not going to Rihanna’s party because Solange is a total Debbie Downer. Gawd, why do you have to ruin everything, Solange?
