Tony Stewart Hits and Kills Kevin Ward Jr.
20-year-old Kevin Ward Jr. was struck and killed by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart during a sprint car race at Canadaigua Motorsports Park on Saturday. The easily avoidable incident was caused by Ward being an idiot and throwing a hissy fit while running onto the track after his car was hit off the track. A few drivers managed to avoid him until Tony Stewart clipped him with his rear tire.
Povero confirmed the driver was taken by ambulance to Thompson Health and was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the dead driver’s identity later Sunday morning.
“This is an ongoing investigation of an on-track crash,” Povero said.
