But First, Let Me Take a Selfie With Joan Rivers Before She Dies

New reports say the doctor that biopsied Joan Rivers during her fateful surgery took a selfie with her while she was under anesthesia. It was during this biopsy that the vocal cords of Rivers began to swell cutting off oxygen to her lungs and sending her into cardiac arrest.

Rivers was at the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic in Manhattan for a scheduled endoscopy by another doctor, Dr. Lawrence Cohen, to help diagnose her hoarse voice and sore throat. After Cohen finished, a biopsy was done on Rivers without her prior consent. The doctor doing the procedure, described as Rivers’ personal ear-nose-throat physician, was not certified by the clinic to be working there. Neither doctor has been accused of wrongdoing by investigators.

It would be funny if he was taking the selfie and the nurses were like, “Doctor! She’s going into cardiac arrest!,” and the doctor was all like, “Wait, I have to get the right lighting.” I mean, funny if she didn’t die and stuff.
