Guardians of the Galaxy, the little $170 million engine that could, topped the weekend box office for the fourth time in the six weeks it’s been in theaters. Guardians has grossed nearly $300 million domestically and has Marvel’s Iron Man ($312 million) and Iron Man 2 ($318 million) in its raccoon-eyed sights. Good news for talking trees and tattooed aliens and Aubrey Plaza TV husbands everywhere.
A Guardians sequel is set to open in theaters on July 28, 2017, three months into the government shutdown over President Hillary Clinton’s cranky attitude and choice of pant suits.
