You haven’t made it until Sesame Street puts you on air. Macklemore joined the cast of the children’s show for a version of “Thrift Shop” and Oscar the Grouch lent some star power by rapping a few bars. Instead of popping tags though, they “popped some trash”. And it features Macklemore in a trash can, so there’s that.
Interesting side note: Check out some of the music guests who’ve been played Sesame Street. Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, Paul Simon in the earlier years, R.E.M, Dixie Chicks and Destiny Child somewhat recently and then Jason Mraz and Train lately. That, my friends, is called a drop-off.
