Naya Rivera: ‘White People Shower a Lot More than Ethnics’

This is what happens when actors speak. They say s**t that reminds us they were meant to recite lines, not give opinions. Glee star Naya Rivera guest-hosted on The View and made quite a splash.

The Glee actress, 28, presented her opinion to Rosie O’Donnell, Nicolle Wallace, and the other ladies seated at the roundtable. “I have to say I have a theory about showering, [which] is that I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnics,” Rivera remarked as Wallace started laughing. “I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing.”

Rivera, attempting to repair the situation, noted that her mother is half-black, half-Puerto Rican. “She showers every day, so I can say this,” the actress said directly to the guest. “But I can say that I am now married to a white man [Ryan Dorsey], and he showers a lot. Like, a lot — two, three times a day. I’m like, ‘What are you doing?'”

Rivera then got scientific in trying to prove her point. “A study says… a dermatologist says you are only supposed to shower once or twice every three days, so I’m right on the mark.”

Wow, she tried to justify her remarks with science and the old “I’m part of this minority so I can say/do dumb s**t”. Margaret Cho, Golden Globes anyone? First off, whatever dermatologist Rivera’s mentioning, they certainly didn’t mention any race should or does shower every three days.

And second, well, there is no second. Rivera’s an idiot. Take this script, memorize the lines, repeat them back to us and keep your dumb ass remarks to yourself. Don’t use race to explain your poor hygiene choices.

Actually people who do shower multiple times a day without doing something that involves sweating are doing it too much. The skin protects itself very well without much intervention. All it needs is occasional ridding of the dead skin cells anmore than this is overkill and washing away the skins natural acid barrier that protects us from viruses bacteria and other foreign things that can make us sick. If your constantly washing this barrier away you get sick more often and cause other skin maladies that people waste money on to correct.

Sounds like the article writer is self conscious about their hygiene… Don’t take it out on Naya.
