Cindy Crawford was the gold standard for beauty back in the day. But, as we all know, time does not forgive. On Valentine’s Day, an unretouched photo of Cindy Crawford in Marie Claire showed up on Twitter. It made everyone throw up in their mouths a little.
Of course, we live in an age of acceptance even though the people who preach it don’t actually believe in it. Users across social media came to her defense giving us revelations like “people need to realize that our bodies change”. Oh, really? I did not know that! What else can you tell us about basic human physiology, Mr. Obvious? Others applauded this real representation of women and beauty.
Then there’s people like me who live in reality and know no one wants to see some wrinkly old stomach on the cover of a magazine. Their natural response included screams of “ew ew ew ew” followed by an attempt to set their monitors on fire.
