Vice President Joe Biden Whispers Sweet Nothings to Secretary of Defense’s Wife

The most boring government press conference got a bit livelier recently. Vice President Joe Biden welcomed Ash Carter, America’s new defense secretary, to the fold. Then Carter’s wife came onstage and cue the Marvin Gaye music right about now. Biden put his hands on her shoulders and leaned his head down to whisper in her ear. Probably something like “I’ll be your secretary of offense if you want.” You’d half-expect Biden to start slowly bending Carter’s wife over right about then.
