Lady Gaga Tried to Drown Herself for Charity

The Special Olympics’ charity event tried to kill Lady Gaga to raise money. The annual Polar Plunge event in Chicago features a bunch of people who jump into freezing Lake Michigan and hope not to get hypothermia. This year, Lady Gaga and fiancé Taylor Kinney participated and newsflash, Lady Gaga didn’t die.

Special Olympics Chicago president Casey Hogan said Sunday that Gaga did the plunge with more than 4,500 other participants. Hogan says the singer’s appearance was “a very nice surprise.”

Other celebrities joined in the fun.

She wasn’t the only celebrity to take the plunge – four of Kinney’s Chicago Fire co-stars (David Eigenberg, Randy Flagler, Jon Seda and Brian Geraghty) took the plunge as well.  So did Vince Vaughn, who agreed to serve as the guest of honor after a successful social media campaign began on Twitter with the hashtag #VinnyDippin.

Lady Gaga looked in high spirits after the event. Better luck next year, Chicago.
