Hispanic-Owned BBQ Joint Plans to Celebrate ‘White Appreciation Day’. Owners Did Not Do Well in History

This one goes out to all you “there’s no whiiite history month” complainers. A Hispanic-owned BBQ joint is offering a “White Appreciation Day” discount.

If you happen to find yourself in Milliken, Colorado on June 11th and you sport the pasty surface of ambiguous decent from some European country, you can get yourself a 10% discount at Rubbin Buttz BBQ for their dubbed “White Appreciation Day.”

What started out as a joke can now get you a sweet, sweet discount on some saucy meats. Owner Edgar Antillon knows there could be backlash, ya know, because historically white people have not been super friendly. His intentions are not to discriminate, but to bring people together. According to KUSA:

“We’re all American whether you come from a different country or you were born here, we’re all American.”

“We have a whole month for Black History Month. We have a whole month for Hispanic Heritage Month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate white Americans.”

So plan your trip, grab some sunscreen, and bring your genetically bad dance moves down, y’all gettin’ some cheap appreciative barbecue.
