Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Robin Williams Tribute Will Give You the Sniffles

Damn, time flies. Can’t believe it’s been a year since Robin Williams committed suicide. Even worse, it’s possible that he did so as a result of Parkinson’s Disease misdiagnosis. Oh well, we all die eventually, amirite?

Gellar co-starred with Williams in the CBS sitcom, The Crazy Ones. She obviously bonded pretty well with him. To her, he was “the father I had always dreamed of having.” Gellar’s biological father heard this and said, “What the…? Why you little!” Nah, he didn’t say that. He already died in 2001 and didn’t have any real contact with Gellar.

To commemorate Williams’ death, Gellar posted a pretty awesome tribute to him on Instagram.

It’s the bench from a dramatic Good Will Hunting scene with Williams and Matt Damon.

Gellar quoted poet Ralph Waldo Emerson in her Insta:

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better wether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded.”

So poignant except she misspelled whether as ‘wether’. You ruined the moment Gellar!
