Professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy made an appearance on the podcast Allegedly on October 13th and discussed his bad blood with former Dancing with the Stars partner Hope Solo.
“She’s just a shitty person. You can have a shitty life growing up, but if you’re a bad person, there’s no excuse for that.”
In Hope Solo’s 2012 memoir, Solo: A Memoir of Hope, she recounts moments of abuse during her dance practices with Chmerkovskiy.
“He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day.”
Solo and Chmerkovskiy were partners during the 2011 season of Dancing with the Stars. He quit the show in 2014.
Solo has responded to Chmerkovskiy’s comments via Twitter, giving him and his insult a 3 out of 30 score from the Dancing with the Stars judges.
