That Time a Drunk Taylor Swift Started Petting The Weeknd’s Hair

White people be like… You know what I’ve never wanted to do? Touch a black person’s hair. Seriously, what’s the fascination with it. It’s hair. Unless touching it gives me magical powers, I’m okay dude.

Taylor Swift, though, she was touching The Weeknd’s hair like, mmm…black hair.

In a Rolling Stone interview, The Weeknd remembered the time a drunk Taylor Swift treated him like a petting zoo.

That’s when he met Taylor Swift. “She actually schooled me on my own s**t,” Tesfaye says. “She was like, ‘I’ve been listening to ‘The Morning’ [from House of Balloons] for years — it’s one of my favorite songs ever!’ I mean, she might have just Googled it. But she seemed genuine.”

Tesfaye says Swift went on for about 15 minutes. “But the whole time she was talking,” he says, “she was kind of, like, petting my hair? I think she was just drawn to it — she must have been a little gone off a few drinks. And of course I’m not going to be like, ‘Hey, can you stop?’ I mean, it felt good! But when she started petting my hair, that’s when I was like, ‘I definitely need a drink.'”

Oh, The Weeknd, you misunderstood. Swift wasn’t enamored with black hair. It’s part of her initiation into the Tay Swift Squad. Your soul is now hers. Congrats.

If you don’t know what the fascination with black hair is, I’m assuming you’ve never touched it. It feels completely different to white hair. Black hair by comparison is hard and rough.

Naw, it was the hairstyle, not because it was specifically black hair. She has a lot of dudes with black hair on tour with her. She could touch their hair if she wanted to touch black hair, they have parties. It was the Weeknd’s hairstyle thing that she thought was cool. I think Ed Sheeran told this story before. She was kind of… Drunk, it was late, and she was petting this guy’s hair because she thought it was cool. Then the place got raised because the party was loud and rowdy. This wasn’t a prim and polite party thing.… Read more »
