Urban Outfitters Will Start Selling Cassettes

And now for Stuff We All Saw Coming, Urban Outfitters announced Tuesday that they will begin selling cassettes and cassette players at select locations.

Run The Jewels, Halsey, and Marina & the Diamonds will all be releasing tapes for this special occasion with Beach House, Action Bronson, Alvvays, American Football, Foals, Japandroids, Muse, and Method Man also available.

You can check out their tape collection here if you’re thinking about getting back into the tape game, or if you’re young and have lo-fi audio preferences and want to get into something fun and a little pointless.

Tapes will be available in the following store locations:

King Of Prussia, PA
Georgetown, Washington D.C.
Herald Square, NYC
Park Meadow, CO
Rancho, CA
Troy, MI
State Street, CH
Jacksonville, FL
Albuquerque, NM
Miami-Dade, FL
Space 15 Twenty, Los Angeles
Roseville, CA
Roosevelt, NY
Gallery Place, Washington D.C.
Torrance, CA
Omaha, NE
Brooklyn, NY
San Francisco, CA
Calgary, Canada
Winnipeg, Canada
West Edmonton, Canada

Despite how typical this is of Urban Outfitters, I think it’s sort of dope. It’s probably┬áthe nostalgia talking, but I loved cassettes and still listen to them when I’m near a tape player, which is very infrequently. Psyched that I can find a working cassette player at an Urban if I feel the need.
