Well, we all just found out that Ryan Gosling will be in the upcoming and unnecessary Blade Runner sequel and now we might get a chance to see him in a Rambo reboot! While on the road for Creed, the upcoming Rocky sequel (right? Or is this more Avengers multi-verse building bullshit) starring Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone has been asked about a possible Rambo reboot.
Predictably at first, Stallone was reluctant to have anyone but himself play the Vietnam veteran. He finally settled on Ryan Gosling, though I don’t think that counts as settling.

I was overjoyed when I heard this, as Rambo was one of Gosling’s favorite movies as a kid. Way back in 2011, he shared the film’s impact on him in the UK magazine, Company.
“When I first saw Rambo, that movie put a kind of spell on me and I actually thought I WAS Rambo. So much so, that one day, I took a bunch of steak knives to school and threw them around at recess time because I thought we were in the movie!”
Gosling was skeptical when the rumor of being Stallone’s pick reached him, but was flattered when he found out the dream-cast was caught on video.
Just the fact that he knows my name is exciting…He’s the best, I’m genuinely touched that he said that.”
I haven’t seen any Rambo movies and I’m generally against reboots and remakes and wish Hollywood was producing more original scripts, but all I really want in life is for Ryan to be happy.
