I am remiss as to when the line became blurred between rappers and politicians.
Kanye teases a 2020 run for office, Waka Flocka (the same man who hired Seth Rogen to be his personal blunt roller) teases a run every election year, Ben Carson released his radio rap ad and First Lady President Obama has now crossed over into the hip hop realm with a rap of her own.
Leaving behind some of the more offensive undertones of Ben Carson’s rap, Michelle Obama has some bars to spit on the track:
South Side Chicago, We all know
We had to do overtime every night to make it to tomorrow
and everyone could really make their dream true
Hey kid, listenin’ in Michigan
that could be YOU.
Teaming up with College Humor and SNL cast member, Jay Pharaoh, the ultimate message is from the Better Make Room organization whose mission encourages students to:
Take the next step: Get a better education, have a better career, imagine a better future and live a better life.
Important message aside, FLOTUS’s rap quickly became a meme, establishing its own hashtag #FLOTUSBARS and its own cult of personality.

I’m waiting for a new husband-wife duo on the mixtape.
lOl! But seriously, go to college, if you can.
