ICYMI: Kim Kardashian and husband, Kanye West, welcome their second child, Saint West, into their superdom. Bitter or not, this kid has more passive income than I will ever have.
It’s been a thing for quite sometime for new moms to eat their own placenta following childbirth. Much to a public outcry of ewwwww, Kim Kardashian (and previously sister-mom Kourtney) have stood against preconceived notions of the icky.
While there are many ways to prepare and eat the placenta, both sisters have opted for the rather mild option of pill capsules. And naturally opted for an ‘amazing’ product with all the packaging appeal of an artisan gift shop in the East Village:

Because apparently Kim can do more than make money for being fiercely smile-less, she wrote about her experience to her blog (which you need a subscription to access).
The benefits of eating one’s placenta have been much disputed, but Kim made the decision following the realization she had nothing to lose:
I heard so many stories when I was pregnant with North of moms who never ate their placenta with their first baby and then had postpartum depression, but then when they took the pills with their second baby, they did not suffer from depression.
From what I hear, momming is hard, why not try to avoid crippling depression?
