On this episode of mildly interesting things that happen sometimes: I’ve seen mistakes and I’ve seen laziness. Templates exist to facilitate both. When a place of business used a receipt paper template, they took the last line of default text very literally.
By ‘change this anytime,’ I mean that it’s not necessary to change unless a customer with access to the Internet to draw attention to it.
There’s really not much more to say about that. It’s a thing that happened, Reddit gave it 4028 upvotes, enough to take it and its poster to front page fame. The world will still turn, the receipts will still be printed, but it was fun to exhale at my screen for a brief relief from grief on this very sad day.
