Florida Man Throws Alligator Through Drive-Thru Window Because Florida, That’s Why

Florida is a blessed state, if you have interest in the ridiculous crimes people dream up. There are entire Twitter accounts dedicated to daily updates of the adventurous happenings of Florida Man and Florida Woman. Some of the best headlines come out of the Sunshine State because of the very public nature of their arrest records. In the latest of wonky occurrences, a Florida man was arrested for throwing a live alligator through a Wendy’s drive-thru window.

I’ve heard of coning–the act of pranking a fast food employee by grabbing the ice cream itself and not the cone–but pranking with an alligator is a new one for me. Having allegedly found an alligator on the side of the road, Joshua James figured the reptile deserved some Wendy’s and the employees deserved a fright. As a local station reports:

23 year old Joshua James went through the drive thru near Royal Palm Beach, largely without incident. But when his server handed him a drink, then turned her back, the youth took his chance and threw a live alligator through the window. He had been hiding the three and a half foot animal in the back of his truck.

That’s bold, abusive and extremely dangerous. The incident occurred in October of last year but James managed to avoid authorities, successfully evading arrest until yesterday. But the best thing about the alligator throwing, it was all caught on video. Good for us, very bad for him.
