Marina and the Diamonds and Charli XCX Beef Over Stolen Images

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Marina and the Diamonds must be swooning right now.

Charli XCX is the spokesperson for Impulse fragrance. Impulse just launched a new campaign with Charli front and center. Take a look at the ads.

Charlotte Rutherford evidently did the photography for the campaign. She Instagrammed a photo of Charli’s ad.

No problem right? Hold up. Something looks familiar.

That’s the artwork for Marina and the Diamonds’ song, “Immortal.” Busted Charlotte!

Marina definitely noticed and commented on Rutherford’s Instagram.

Marina wrote “That FROOT looks familiar!” FROOT refers to Marina and the Diamonds’ latest album. It’s the one with “Immortal” on it.

Marina also went on Twitter.

Rutherford has since taken down the Instagram. She’s left up one with XCX in a different pose with a slightly different background.

Wrong, so wrong.

How about giving credit to fellow artists once in awhile, Rutherford? That’s not too much to ask.
