Charlize Theron Wants You to Know That It’s Hard to Be Super Hot

Everyone knows that if you’re a woman and you’re not hot, thin and young enough, no one will hire you in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Charlize Theron wants us all to cry big, fat tears for her because being hot has apparently worked against her.  She told British GQ:

“Jobs with real gravitas go to people that are physically right for them and that’s the end of the story.”

Yeah, that’s called typecasting. And it works way more against everyone else who aren’t thin and white. You think Jennifer Lawrence is the highest paid woman in Hollywood because she can act?

“How many roles are out there for the gorgeous, f–king, gown-wearing eight-foot model? When meaty roles come through, I’ve been in the room and pretty people get turned away first.”

Ugly women can’t get hired to do s**t in Hollywood. Shut up, Charlize.

“We live in a society where women wilt and men age like fine wine. And, for a long time, women accepted it.”

That’s so real. We live in a film industry of 45-year-old leading men and 17-year-old leading women.

“We were waiting for society to change, but now we’re taking leadership. It would be a lie to say there is less worry for women as they get older than there is for men…It feels there’s this unrealistic standard of what a woman is supposed to look like when she’s over 40.”

Yeah. The unrealistic standard is pretty much Charlize Theron.

It’s now gotten to the point where I know what Isadorah’s articles are going to say before I read them: “Girl power – yay! Unless you’re prettier than me, then boo bitch! Unless you’re black – everything done by anyone black is AMAZING! F*** men, especially white men. *gets distracted by shiny object* Oh hey look, here’s a weird video that I failed to embed correctly…”
