Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, we were gifted with the first look into Marvel’s next big origin story addition into the Marvel cinematic universe with a Doctor Strange trailer. And it’s already a whole lot better than any movie expected to come out this year. Why you ask? There appears to be a whole lot of Tilda Swinton, my god, my savior, my regal earth momma who keeps me centered. Tilda Swinton will play The Ancient One, a character that is usually regarded to be a male sorcerer. Yet, more important than the gender of the character is the mentorship of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. Now, there’s been better casting than Cum-in-her-snatch in this role… but he’s seemed to fill most of the shoes he’s been sit to fill. This should be fine. According to IMDb, Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen are set to be somewhere in this movie so we should be excited.
While I can’t sit on my pedestal and tell you I know everything there is to know about the Marvel cinematic universe, I do know some good sources for people who can explain better than I can. The Verge, who seems to be just as skeptical but anxious for the November release, tells us:
You might be surprised to learn that Doctor Strange is actually a physician with the last name Strange… trange’s backstory was first told in Strange Tales #115. At first, he was a talented surgeon with an asshole streak, winning fame and fortune through his work. But a car crash crippled his hands, ruining his career.
He then changed his life to become somewhat of a professional asshole without purpose.
He spent years looking for a miracle treatment that would fix him, and eventually wound up in Tibet. There he met the Ancient One, a… well, ancient person who taught him all about sorcery and otherworldly dimensions. Eventually, Strange would leave conventional medicine and his jerk ways behind and become the Sorcerer Supreme, Earth’s master of magic and mysticism and one of its greatest champions.
Renewed with purpose, he was able to take his seat on the throne of moral superiority and call himself a superhero. Doctor Strange is one of the more elaborate storylines to come out of StanLee’s mind. This one will take some work to really understand, and it’s a little weird, but those who know a thing or two about a thing or two seem impressed.
You should definitely this trailer at least twice, maybe three or four- ok five? six times? at least? #DoctorStrangehttps://t.co/5yf3Go65CV

A good trailer sets high expectations. Don’t f**k this one up.
Uh! Its not all that strange, but then the immortality that we think we know is not the one that exists. Doctor Strange is one of the more elaborate storylines to come out of StanLee’s mind.
