Paul Walker’s fatal car crash back in 2013 was really fucked up, and shocked Hollywood, but was particularly hard on his daughter, Meadow Walker.
Since his passing, both Paul’s father and daughter filed lawsuits against Porsche over problems with the Porsche Carrera GT driven by Roger Rodas during the accident. Earlier this week, Rodas’ widows wrongful death suit was thrown out by a judge, but 17-year-old Meadow Walker fought on and has just won big.
Meadow was awarded over $10 million in a settlement from Rodas’ estate. Jeff Milam, Meadow’s lawyer, spoke about the ruling in People.
“The amount paid by the estate of Roger Rodas into a trust for Meadow Walker only covers a fraction of what her father would have earned as an international movie star had his life not tragically been cut short.”
Milam also had this to say:
“Through his estate, Mr. Rodas, the driver of the car, took partial responsibility for the crash. Meadow’s lawsuit against Porsche AG – a $13 billion corporation – intends to hold the company responsibly for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker’s death.”
While it’s tragic that Rodas’ widow’s case was thrown out, hopefully Meadow and her lawyer will be able to take Porsche down.
