We’re in a growing technological age. Not only has technology made our lives easier on a fundamental level, it’s freed up a bulk of our time to create some of the most remarkable art in the history of all time. Our art is getting so much bigger. So much better. We’re taking down walls that we never knew existed. One of artists known for breaking these down these barriers is Steven Spielberg and the lead of his next film Ready Player One, stars Tye Sheridan. Sheridan says this film is going to be no exception to that rule. In an interview with Variety, Sheridan says we can expect really big things from the not-yet-filmed movie:
It’s a new spin on cinema. A good third of the film takes place in a virtual realm inside a video game. What I love about the film is that it plays with some metaphorically bigger themes. I think it’s going to be a milestone for cinema in its advancements and exploration of virtual reality. I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to be a part of it.
I don’t know anything of Sheridan’s taste level, but if Spielberg wanted good PR, he got more than he could have ever wished for. People like to be told what to expect of a film before they see it.
