Kit Harington: It’s Hard out Here for a Man

Kit Harington‘s life is so incredibly trying. I mean I get it, he’s a little cranky. His men killed him and he had to find a way back from that. I doubt it’s any more pleasant than waking up from a 6 hour nap of overslept proportions. He’s bound to have a fuzzy brain. He’s lost very large portions of his family without due cause. He’s unsure who’s alive and who’s dead. On top of all that, the man has been stuck in overcast, snowy and freezing conditions for years now. For years, this man has not felt sunshine on his face, so maybe we can excuse him for his following remarks.

Let me preface, Kit Harington thinks the entertainment industry has a major sexism problem.

I like to think of myself as more than a head of hair or a set of looks. It’s demeaning. Yes, in some ways you could argue I’ve been employed for a look I have. But there’s a sexism that happens towards men.

Translation: I’m on Game of Thrones and I still don’t fully understand that it’s the most salacious show on television. I don’t understand my typecast and I don’t like it.

He’s resentful as hell.

I think there is a double standard. If you said to a girl, ‘Do you like being called a babe?’ and she said, ‘No, not really,’ she’d be absolutely right.”

Men have to be objectified and deal with it. It’s really hard to be a man today, you know? Sometimes it’s hard not to want to make a movement about yourself.
