I’m Nuts For the Idea of Anna Kendrick as Squirrel Girl

I’m down to see Anna Kendrick do whatever the hell she wants honestly.

“My brother sent me a ‘Squirrel Girl’ comic because he thinks I should [play her],” she said during a recent chat with Net A Porter. “I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”

So, what the f**k is Squirrel Girl? She’s this:

Squirrel Girl, a.k.a. Doreen Green, was introduced to the Marvel comic book universe in 1992. While she’s definitely a breezier character compared to the theatrics of other Marvel heroes, she’s got some pretty impressive powers and victories under her belt.

While this reeks of furry I’ll get behind it. Sure. Why not?

In addition to the expected bushy tail and an affinity for climbing, Squirrel Girl possesses super strength, speed and an ability to heal quickly, per People magazine. She’s also racked up some impressive victories over villains like Doctor Doom and current “Avengers” threat Thanos.

Marvel is probably busy with an endless list of upcoming projects, but who knows. Maybe someday we’ll get out squirrel prayers answered.
