Jennifer Murphy’s Music Video for ‘NEENJA’ Is Going Places

I’m on the fence about this music video for NEENJA from Jennifer Murphy (season 4 contestant on The Apprentice). Not because I can’t decide whether the skit works or if this just barely steps over that line, but because of the startling inaccuracies in the lyrics. Nunchucks to feed ducks? Hello! If anything a ninja would use a katana to slice the bread and whip it to the ducks. Gawd!

Maybe it does work though because 80% of Reddit thinks this is serious, 10% realize it’s a skit and the other 10% think it’s a viral marketing campaign for Murphy Beds. Granted, this video was uploaded in April and that would be the slowest marketing campaign in the world.

Wait this wasn’t serious? WELL! Her horrible racism and general idiocy is forgiven then! That rapscallion…she totally got one over on us.

1. It doesn’t barely step over the line, it triple jumps past the line.

2. If you couldn’t figure out that it was racist the moment she started imitating her idea of an Asian speaking, then you’re most likely a like minded racist.

“Realize it’s a skit”? Seriously? Nobody didn’t realize she was trying to be funny. How clueless do you have to be to think that something being a joke completely absolves it of racism?

OK, you got me, how would it being a skit make it less racist? I mean I got the part where it’s not serious…because she’s making of Asians…oh the hilarity! If you can make excuses for the video, you’re in the same boat with Jennifer Murphy. You’ve got a problem.
