Third Eye Blind Used Their Gig at RNC to Take the Piss Out of the GOP

This band’s music might not be cool, but they are cool.

The ’90s rock band Third Eye Blind, known for their WB-ready hits “Semi-Charmed Life” and that song from Can’t Hardly Wait, trolled a crowd of Republicans in attendance at their concert in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention.

This is the kind of s**t I like to see. If your party is gonna have the kind of cred that makes it look like it sits at the same lunch table as a confused Asian twitter Nazi, and your head guy is a shrimp fingered rapist, somebody should take this piss out of you.

Frontman Stephen Jenkins discussed his gay cousins, and how the band rejects the party’s anti-LGBT platform—to loud boos from the crowd at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Via Billboard:

…the singer expressed a wish in his intro that the party would welcome people “like my cousins who are gay into the American fabric. To love this song is to take into your heart the message and to actually have a feeling to arrive and move forward and not live your life in fear and imposing that fear on other people.”

F**k it up Stephen Jenkins. F**k it up.

At another point, Jenkins also jokingly asked the crowd, “Raise your hand if you believe in science?” to a chorus of boos.

Excellent. To hell with all these pig fuckers.

Third Eye Blind really isn’t that deep, but Jenkins did his best on the behalf of his gay cousins. And all of America. Check out this tweet.
