Italian Lawyer Does NOT Like Sitting Next to Fat People

Let’s face it. Rich people fly better than many of us live. They’re accustomed to a certain standard and they’re entitled to it, of course. So what happens when an innocent rich man is placed next to a less than desirable flying mate? A crying baby? A woman wearing way too much nauseating perfume? God forbid, a fat person? You file a lawsuit.

It’s the right thing to do. Meet Giorgio Destro, a wealthy lawyer from Northern Italy, a man who flies so much first class he’s been granted ‘gold member’ status, he simply did not deserve to be sat in such a place. Recalling the trauma, which he captured on camera:

For nine hours, I had to stand in the aisle, sit on seats reserved for the cabin crew when they were free, and in the final phase of flight resign myself to suffer the ‘spillover’ of the passenger at my side.

He was denied a change in seat, received no apology nor compensation. It’s a sin. In return for his pain and suffering, Destro is seeking $3,066.96 in addition to an $844.13 refund for the flight and an additional $2,222.52 in damages from Emirates.
