Ben Stiller has Butt Cancer

On Tuesday’s episode of the Howard Stern show, Ben Stiller revealed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer two years ago and had to have it removed almost immediately.

The actor, 50, who has a 14-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son with his wife, Christine, secretly underwent surgery, and was rid of his cancer by September of that year. He’s now urging men to talk to their doctors about being tested at an earlier and earlier age. His tumor had been growing for five years before anyone found it.

In a post on medium, he details his experience.

‘Taking the PSA test saved my life. Literally. That’s why I am writing this now.’

‘If [his doctor] had waited, as the American Cancer Society recommends, until I was 50, I would not have known I had a growing tumor until two years after I got treated.

‘If he had followed the US Preventive Services Task Force guidelines, I would have never gotten tested at all, and not have known I had cancer until it was way too late to treat successfully.’

Listen to Ben Stiller. Look after your prostate.

Looking forward to Isadora’s next piece “Celebrity has tit cancer”. Wait… no… that would require Isadora to write without constant gender bias…
