Did Marla Maples Out Donald Trump’s Tax Returns?

There’s an unsung hero sitting somewhere within the Trump campaign and I think she’s been watching The First Wives Club. Earlier this week, we finally got to see the copy of the GOP nominee’s tax returns, despite all his auditing excuses.

But where did they come from? Who mailed them to The New York Times? All signs seem to point to ex-wife Marla Maples. Maples has made threats to out the Donald in the past during his half-assed presidential campaigns. But now that he has a real shot–a real 50% chance–at being the next president of the United States, I don’t think she can keep quiet anymore.

Back in 1999, the Donald was considering a bid for president as the Reform Party candidate and Maples told the NY Post:

If he’s serious about being president and runs in the general election next year, I will not be silent.

She endured this man for a time. She knew him. She knows better than any of us why he shouldn’t be president.

I will feel it’s my duty to tell the American people what he is really like.

But she likely can’t come forward publicly for fear of a Trump smear campaign, so she did what she knew she had to. She watched The First Wives Club and devised her plan to take down a man she probably once loved. Only this isn’t Dan Hedaya or Victor Garber or Stephen Collins, this is Donald Trump. And I don’t know if he can be stopped…
