Oasis Turned Down the Soundtrack For ‘Trainspotting’ Because They’re Idiots

Danny Boyle’s 1996 film Trainspotting is one of those films you have to watch if you want people to think you’re, like, cool and know things about stuff and whatever.

Oasis‘s Noel Gallagher definitely does not know things about stuff. Or whatever. Which I guess, considering the most romantic and meaningful thing he could ever think to call another person was his “Wonderwall,” is not surprising.

The film’s costume designer Rachel Fleming had this to say about Gallagher at a recent Q&A:

“I met Noel [Gallagher] at a thing the other week and he said to me ‘I would have done something but honestly I thought it was about train spotters. I didn’t know.”

Ha!

“That’s what he actually said.”

It’s not as if this movie popped out of the blue either. It was based on an Irvine Welsh novel of the same name that came out three years before the film. Looks like Gallagher was just too busy being a train hater to ask anybody any questions or read a book synopsis.
