Tom Ford, fashion designer and director, has a lot of thoughts about life, death, and dicks in your ass.
Ford was interviewed by GQ about a great number of subjects and though he dwelled upon how sad and beautiful it is that everything dies for half the interview, he then switched gears. Ford says that he has a greater understanding of women because he’s been F’ed in the A.
How does that connect, you may wonder? Well, Tom says getting fucked, literally mind you, helps you feel how women feel all the time. About the idea of men getting fucked, Tom said,
“I think it would help them understand women. It’s such a vulnerable position to be in, and it’s such a passive position to be in. And there’s such an invasion, in a way, that even if it’s consensual, it’s just very personal. And I think there’s a psyche that happens because of it that makes you understand and appreciate what women go through their whole life, because it’s not just sexual, it’s a complete setup of the way the world works, that one sex has the ability to literally—and is expected to and is wanted to—but also there’s an invasion. And I think that that’s something most men do not understand at all.”
At first glance, this does seem like pure crazy talk from a guy who mostly makes clothes and pretty pictures for a living. But, there’s a touch of truth to it.
Fucking someone and getting fucked are different and that basic sexual fact could have something to do with how gender roles developed in society. Sure, there’s lot more to be a woman than having a penis enter your body, but the idea that a man has to submit to someone else very well may make them a little more empathetic.
