Donald Trump Gets Into Shouting Match With CNN Reporter At Press Conference

Donald Trump is none too thrilled with CNN and BuzzFeed after they ran with intelligence reports that he might be compromised by Russia. In his press conference, which interrupted my daily viewing of The Price is Right, he called the two organizations “fake news” and spent the majority of the press conference attacking both outlets.

Things only got worse from there as Trump and CNN’s Jim Acosta got into a shouting match straight out of a Saturday Night Live sketch.

Acosta attempted to ask a question, “Since you’re attacking our news organization, can you give us a chance to ask a question,” and Trump quickly shut that down.

“No. Not you. Not you. Your organization is terrible. Quiet. Don’t be rude. Don’t be rude. I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news.”

I admit, I laughed so hard at this exchange. No, Trump shouldn’t be going after a reporter who is just doing his job. And the fact that he said, “don’t be rude” while being extremely rude is a sense of irony that only Trump is oblivious to. But the whole thing was so absurd that, how could you not laugh?

This whole Presidency is so absurd that you pretty much have to laugh, or you’ll just end up depressed and crying every day.

As a well-respected Blemish journalist, I really hope other journalists stand together and stand up to Trump. His bullying tactics are worrisome and should not be tolerated. But this is what happens when you laugh him off for months before waking up and realizing that this joke is now President.

And now we can add “shut down CNN and BuzzFeed” to Trump’s Presidential task list. Right behind “Canceling SNL,” “Remove every bad photo of himself from existence,” and “blacklist Meryl Streep from Hollywood.”
