Hollywood loves finding a way to tell women they’re ugly.
Debra Messing recently told a story at the MAKERS conference about an early, shitty Hollywood experience. While filming A Walk in the Clouds with Keanu Reeves, the director Alfonso Arau stopped the scene abruptly. “How quickly can we get a plastic surgeon in here? Her nose is ruining my movie.”
Obviously, Messing was a little shaken by the experience, especially since it was her first real screen role. The director continued to be a dick throughout the shoot, insisting she be nude in a scene for no reason, when only her bare back made the final cut.
Now, Messing celebrates her differences and has no problems with her body.
Maybe I’m weird, but I never would have thought she had a bad nose. Or a shitty body. So the fact that she’s the “unusual looking” actress in the bunch is pretty fucking sad.
