First Look at ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2

If you’ve not watched Stranger Things, stop reading and go watch it on Netflix. Actually, keep reading WHILE you watch it. Whatever you do, just watch it. One of the best series in the past few years. You could binge watch this in one weekend and leave a foul smelling impression on your couch. It’ll be so worth it.

Entertainment Weekly reveals an exclusive image from the second season. We see Gaten Matarazzo dressed in a Ghostbusters costume at school. This reveal confirms that Stranger Things season 2 takes place in 1984.

The original season took place in 1983. Co-creator Matt Duffy gave puberty as the reason for the 1984 setting.

“Because like Gaten [Matarazzo], his voice has already dropped quite a bit, to the point where we couldn’t even do ADR with him. We had to pitch it way up… so we’re going to skip a year. They’ll be a year older and all their changes they’re going through, we’ll take that into account and kind of work that into the show.”

1984 you say. How appropriate for these times.

EW also goes on to say that the second season Stranger Things teaser premieres after the Super Bowl. Yet another reason to watch Tom Brady beat down the Atlanta Falcons.
