Kate Upton Lands 2017 SI Swimsuit Cover Despite Being a Possible Diva

Congratulations to Kate Upton. She’s this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit‘s cover girl. I think we can all say this is a highlight for everyone.

This will be Upton’s third time landing the cover. She also nabbed it in 2012 and 2013.

SI will have three different covers of Upton, but not because they love her three times as much. They started off with the idea for multiple covers with different models, but gradually, SI Swimsuit editor MJ Day says each Upton photo “was coming back just as great as the next.” He didn’t say this will boost sales three times as much for the horny collectors out there.

Did they have to put up with Upton’s diva demands? It came out a few days ago from a source that Upton “was being a big f – – king diva. She’s thinks she’s better than everyone because she’s an actress.” Actress? Huh. As if there aren’t a million blonde haired models in Hollywood with the same (read: zero) talent as her.

Day blows smoke up Upton’s ass, going on to say “Kate Upton was really this trailblazer that led the way for the Ashley Grahams of the world and everything you’re seeing happen that’s different in fashion right now.”

Okay, there’s like less than five “curvy” models out there who actually make good money and are famous. There’s Graham and Upton, that other girl, and those two other girls. See? Five. We should really be commending Day for having the guts to put someone of Upton’s, errm, stature, onto their pages. He’s the true trailblazer. Maybe he was swayed by her Fappening pics (link NSFW).

Also, look around. How many average-sized models do you really see walking runways, doing SI Swimsuit issues, getting famous? There aren’t any real changes, but credit for pretending.
