Kevin Smith Rebooting ‘Jay and Silent Bob’

Kevin Smith is working on a Jay and Silent Bob reboot. And it sounds exactly like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

In a long Instagram post, Smith wrote,

And so all last month, I had the time of my life laughing while writing “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” – a fun flick in which the Jersey boys have to go back to Hollywood to stop a brand new reboot of the old “Bluntman & Chronic Movie” they hated so much. It’s a tongue-in-cheek, silly-ass satire that pokes fun at the movie business’s recent re-do obsession, featuring an all-star cast of cameos and familiar faces!

What a genius Kevin Smith is. He’s making a reboot movie about a reboot movie to show how much he dislikes reboot movies. This is some Inception-level s**t that Kevin Smith is on.

As a fan of Jason Mewes and the Jay character, I’ll probably watch this movie and laugh a lot. But I won’t pay for it.

And given Smith’s history, the movie won’t come out anyway.
