Ex-NFL Player Aaron Hernandez Hung Himself in Jail. He’s Dead Now

Guess who won’t be making an NFL comeback anytime soon, or ever? Ex-NFL player Aaron Hernandez seems to have committed suicide today. Guards at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts, found the 27-year-old hanging from a bed sheet tied to a jail cell window. They also found the cell door “jammed with various items.”

Hernandez currently serves a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd. Hernandez received the life sentence back in 2015.

Things should’ve been looking up for him. Sort of.

Hernandez was just on trial for TWO more murders. However, a jury acquitted him of the 2012 double murder last Friday. Good news, right?

Prosecutors said Hernandez opened fire on their car because he felt disrespected when one of the men bumped into him and spilled his drink at a Boston nightclub.

Hernandez only got an unlawful possession of gun conviction in that same case. That added four to five years onto his sentence. That sure beats two more life sentences.

Even though he had a life sentence in the 2015 killing, Jose Baez, his lawyer, thought he could get a reversal and set him free.

“I think that if we look back at some of the things that are available to appeal on that case, I think there’s a strong likelihood. And if he hires me for the second trial, we’re going to go all at it. Nothing would make me happier than to prove everybody wrong.”

Of course, this lawyer wanted money. How much money did Hernandez have?

“Very little, very little. But he’s got friends and supporters — people who care about him. Hopefully people will come forward now that they can see.”

This is horrible news for the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center football team.

Welcome to hell, sir. There’s a seat on the bus next to Steve Stevens.
