Breaking News: Kendall Jenner Still Out of Touch as F**k

Kendall Jenner is having a bad time.

There’s pretty much no coming back from that Pepsi ad or promoting a luxury festival that put ended up stranding rich people in stolen FEMA tents for a weekend, and she’s steamrolling on in her rich white girl way, being tone-deaf af.

Now, no matter what she does, it will be construed as offensive. She will still make mad money off it, but everyone will complain about every bland thing she does until the end of time. The Vogue India 10th anniversary cover she just did has a lot of people pissed off.

If there’s anything we should know by now, it’s that people in non-white countries (you know, most of Earth) don’t really want their media looking like a fucking blizzard chock full of white people. Which I think is pretty fair, considering the vast majority of non-white people in American media have been maids, props, offensive stereotypes, criminals, karate masters, or entirely absent for the past 100 years.

Also, maybe the anniversary cover shoot of a magazine for Indian people should feature an actual Indian person, and not somebody who looks like the most Indian thing they’ve ever done is order butter chicken at Tiffin in a strip mall.

WWD took down some of the many complaints:

Why not an Indian model there are so many??? This doesn’t create the sense that India has its own beauty and character,” Facebook user Kavita Shourie commented on Vogue India’s page.

You know why there wasn’t an Indian model. It’s colorism.

“She is beautiful but I’m pretty sure in a county of over 1 billion they could have found an Indian!” user Nikita Martinz said. “If they want international phenomena Priyanka [Chopra] and Deepika [Padukone] are huge right now.”

It’s almost like they didn’t try or something.
