Dave Chappelle Apologizes for Being Optimistic About Donald Trump

Following the election, Dave Chappelle said this about Donald Trump:

It’s a long monologue, but well worth watching. However, if you don’t want to watch it, allow me to quote the ending.

“I’m wishing Donald Trump luck. I’m going to give him a chance and we demand that he give us one too.”

Flash forward six months:

Chappelle is apologizing for asking people to give Trump a chance and saying, “he’s actually what you thought a black president would be.”

Sure, if the black president had no political background and was a former reality TV star.

There’s no need to apologize though, Dave. I think we all wanted to give him a chance. None of us could have predicted that it would get this bad, this fast. And yet, here we are. Weeks away from all being Russian citizens.
