In case you don’t think Game of Thrones is complicated enough, get ready for spinoffs that add more characters and more worlds.
HBO reached a deal with writers Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island), Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Brian Helgeland (Legend), and Carly Wray (Mad Men, The Leftovers) to piece together the new series.
With Game of Thrones, the highest rated series in HBO history, set to end next year, HBO obviously wants to extend the franchise because who doesn’t like making a bunch of money and receiving all the praise?
Since George R. R. Martin can’t even finish the main series of books, the spinoffs won’t have any books to follow. This is great news for people like myself who watch the show with nerds who have read all the books and are constantly saying, “That doesn’t happen in the books,” before explaining what happens in the books, thus confusing me even more.
Have no fear though, the writers and producers will work closely with Martin to ensure that the story is still a confusing mess.
