New Details On The Death of Chris Cornell

New details have emerged about the death of singer Chris Cornell, and they aren’t pretty.

In a phone conversation with his wife moments prior to his death, Vicky Cornell recounted that Chris was, “slurring his speech” while describing that his in-ears were messed up at that night’s concert. Chris said that he only took two Ativan, a drug that helps with anxiety, to calm himself down. As someone who has taken two Ativan at a time, I can tell you that it just knocks you out, it doesn’t make you incoherent.

Even Vicky was suspicious.

“I need to know what you took. It doesn’t sound like two Ativan. It sounds like you took something else,” she told him, according to TMZ. “You need to tell me now what you took. I forgive you.”

After this, Chris became “cocky and aggressive” and began talking about something else. The whole episode reminded Vicky of when he was abusing Oxycontin 14 years ago.

Vicky called Chris’ bodyguard, Martin Kirsten, who tried busting down the door of the hotel room. He succeeded, but was too late, finding Cornell hanging from a red exercise band with fresh track marks on his arm.

Vicky still maintains that Cornell didn’t commit suicide, saying that he only did it because he was under the influence, but sometimes those two things go hand-in-hand.
