The Rock is everywhere now. In a recent GQ article, he talks about his presidential aspirations. He doesn’t explicitly say that he “wants” to be president. He just goes along with the interviewer’s line of questioning. The Rock says it’s a “real possibility” which sounds slightly realistic since The Rock can will anything to reality. On the other hand, the guy is afraid to express an opinion because he’s afraid he’d alienate some people.
“I feel like I’m in a position now where my word carries a lot of weight and influence, which of course is why they want the endorsement…I felt like it would either (a) make people unhappy with the thought of whatever my political view was. And, also, it might sway an opinion, which I didn’t want to do.”
Boo! Still one of the most genuine actors in the business though.
Also one of the funniest. The Rock made this spoof video to go along with the GQ article.
In it, he and Tituss Burgess (who stars as his agent), go back and forth on possible film sequels. After each idea, the camera cuts to him acting out of the scenes.
That last pic needs to go on his presidential campaign poster. The slogan can be: “Yess!, Yess!, Yess!”
