Students Troll Art World With Pineapple

Students at the Robert Gordon University in Scotland left a pineapple at their school’s art exhibition, hoping that it would be mistaken for art. It was done partially by Ruairi Gray, a business information technology (fucking nerd) student, who said in an interview:

“I saw an empty art display stand and decided to see how long it would stay there for or if people would believe it was art.”

According to The Independent, he and his friends left it on a table and returned a few days later to find the lone pineapple in its own glass case.

Ha.

Maybe the real joke is on Gray, who by choosing to display an innocuous object with intention actually elevated it to art, becoming the joke he thought he was making.

Sick burn.

“I came in later and it had been put in a glass case – it’s the funniest thing that has happened all year. My honours supervisor saw it and asked an art lecturer if it was real because he could not believe it.”

No one even knows how it got in the case, but in the case it went.

#Art.

Suck on that Shia LaBeouf.
