We may be living in hell, but at least there’s this.
Last month Nevada teen Carter Wilkerson tweeted Wendy’s asking how many retweets he would have to get in order to get a year’s supply of free chicken nuggets, and they said 18 million. A month later, it looks like the kid is well on his way as he’s smashed the 3.4 million retweet record previously held by Ellen DeGeneres.
Twitter, including numerous celebrities and big tech companies have all gotten in on #nuggsforcarter.
This is so pure.
Even though he didn’t get all the way to 18 million, Wendy’s is still giving him dem nuggs.
.@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time. That’s good for the nuggets, and $100k to @DTFA. Consider it done. #nuggsforcarter pic.twitter.com/k6uhsJiP4E

From The Verge:
Since the tweet went viral, Wilkerson has pivoted his objective a bit — promising that once the record is broken, Wendy’s will donate $100,000 to The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Wendy’s also confirmed that the teen will get his nuggets.
Nice.
Ellen tried to pull some s**t so he wouldn’t break her record when he appeared on her show, but it didn’t work, making this nugget loving teen the true Twitter King.
Perfect.
