You’ll Have More Fun Watching Snoop Dogg’s Sign Language Interpreter Than Hearing Him Rap

Snoop Dogg is still performing in 2017. Which, you know, good for him. But when you’re 45 years old, already rich, and stoned 24/7, you need some gimmicks to help make your performance memorable. That’s why the D-O-Double G brought along a sign language professional.

That’s Holly Maniatty, and her enthusiasm should have her getting paid the thousands that Snoop got paid for that performance. Maniatty has worked with rappers before, including the Beastie Boys, Wu-Tang Clan, and Killer Mike. Here she is in 2013 at a Wu-Tang show:

Holly talked about her rap sign language experience in 2013 on a radio show saying:

“In order to make the interpretations as authentic as possible so the deaf patron is getting as close to the same experience as the hearing people are getting, I’m using signs that are, you know, indigenous to where that person, you know, grew up, or where they’re from or where they’re living currently,”

Basically, she puts more work into her performances than the rapper does.

Upon more research, I found out that Maniatty took part in a SIGN LANGUAGE RAP BATTLE on Jimmy Kimmel back in 2014.

That’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever watched. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to spend the rest of my day watching sign language rap.
