Ethan Farmer, Lionel Richie’s bassist, fell pretty quickly from “Dancing on the Ceiling.” Medical personnel had to take him to the hospital on May 30 after he had stabbed himself multiple times. There’s not a whole lot of detail about what happened – he had apparently had some edibles and then decided to use his own body as a voodoo doll… with maybe knives.
Luckily, the 42-year-old, who’s being pretty tight-lipped about the whole thing, seems to be recovering just fine at a hospital near the San Fernando Valley.
From what I’ve heard about edibles, the only thing I can think of was that he was a dumbass and ate a larger portion than he should have. Eating them is NOT like smoking it – have too much and it can have some seriously sick side effects. Like this. He was with friends who may have been new to edibles. They should have said, “Smaller bits, dude!”
Perhaps he was depressed about having had to tour with New Kids on the Block. Maybe he finally realized that the 1980’s are long gone.
Whatever the case may be, he will hopefully be a lot more careful. Maybe he’ll just go back to toking up the usual way. He could also hide all the sharp implements if he does eat more edibles.
