J. Lo Donated $1 Million to Puerto Rico Which is More Than Trump’s Done

Hurricane Maria destroyed Puerto Rico. 80% of the transmission lines are down and most of the 3.4 million citizens are without power. Puerto Rico is a Hollywood disaster movie come to life.

“We really should think in terms of rebuilding at this point,” says Ken Buell, director of Emergency Response and Recovery with the US Department of Energy. Paying for it will be a challenge, however: the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, or PREPA, is bankrupt, with at least $9 billion in debt, The New York Times reported in July. “They’re saying as far as economic impact, we’re talking probably billions of dollars of impact,” Buell says. “So it’s a big deal.”

Luckily, we have President Trump coming to help them out. By tweeting about the NFL. Priorities, he’s got them. And they don’t include non-white people.

Jennifer Lopez still has a conscience though. The singer donated $1 million to relief efforts. If you’re keeping score, that’s a million dollars more than Trump has publicly committed from the government. A million dollars is an accounting error to the government.

Lopez appeared with Governor Andrew Cuomo for a New York state donation drive.

“Today Puerto Rico needs our help,” J.Lo, who is co-chairing the effort… “My cousins and I and all of our family still haven’t been able to hear from all of our family over there, we are concerned for them and for everyone on the island.”
